Health Technology Assessment
Health Technology Assessment (HTA) involves critical appraisal of the published evidence regarding the safety, effectiveness, and clinical impact of a particular healthcare technology, such as a medical device, pharmaceutical or therapeutic intervention, diagnostic or screening test, or preventive strategy. Where applicable, the technology is compared with conventional care and other alternate or competing technologies. The goal of HTA is to facilitate evidence-based decision making, which in turn improves the quality and cost-effectiveness of healthcare.
