PacificSource has been subscribing to Hayes products for nearly 10 years. At this point, we utilize virtually the whole spectrum of their offerings. The website is very useful, and we also appreciate the search capabilities related to new and emerging technologies. We rely heavily on the currency, authority, and completeness of Hayes reviews and citations.

Legacy has utilized a multi-tier approach to evaluating new medical technologies, which is grounded in medical evidence. For the past 5 years, we relied heavily on the multiple technology assessment tools developed by Hayes, Inc. We rely on Hayes to provide unbiased, evidence-based resources as an integral part of our technology assessment process. I would recommend them to anyone dedicated to evidence-based decision making.

I would strongly recommend Hayes to other managed care organizations. Their Directory and additional products have played an important role in the development of our own medical policies. Hayes has been very responsive to our needs.

Hayes gathers and very effectively analyzes large amounts of information about new technologies that we would otherwise not have available to determine whether and how to adopt new technological advances. We regard the Hayes Directory to be indispensable.
I consider Hayes to be the gold standard when it comes to the research and analysis of new medical technologies. Hayes assessments form the foundation upon which I and my colleagues build our consensus about how to approach a new medical technological advance.

The Hayes Directory has become an integral decision making tool of the Health Services department, both for the medical directors and the medical policy development staff. The Hayes Inc. Online service provides in-depth analyses of the available scientific data on a wide range of topics. It also allows access to data from specialty societies that is often restricted by individual subscription or membership requirements. Having these reviews available saves a significant amount of internal resource - both physically and economically. It would be impractical to try provide this level of scientific review in-house.
We include any applicable Hayes Directory document as part of the data review when our internal technology assessment committee convenes to evaluate a given technology. Additionally, when our medical benefit policies are due for their annual review, we always consider the Hayes document updates in addition to our own literature review. The medical director staff also utilizes Hayes reviews in routine determination of coverage decisions.
Our experience has been that the Hayes reviews are timely, unbiased, and reflect a level of data synthesis and analytical expertise that assists us in making well informed coverage decisions. The level of detail also allows the medical director staff to cite the current literature and more effectively interact with specialist physicians during peer-to-peer reviews.
