Search & Summary (S&S) reports are nonanalytical reports that may be generated rapidly in response to client requests. These reports include introductory information regarding technologies that have not already been addressed in other Hayes reports, and a conclusion is provided indicating whether there is sufficient evidence to support a full assessment of the technology. Each S&S report describes findings from focused searches of the published literature found in MEDLINE, other National Library of Medicine (NLM) databases, and EMBASE. Relevant abstracts from English-language, peer-reviewed clinical studies and review articles on the topic are included, as well as the available information concerning applicable regulatory approvals, national coverage determinations by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), clinical trials, etc. The reports are sent directly to the requester and posted in the Knowledge Center for the use of all subscribers.
