Add More “Value” to Value Analysis: Bridging the Technology Knowledge Gap with Evidence

This 1-day workshop for Value Analysis Professionals introduces clinicians and managers to a systematic and evidence-based approach to value analysis. Key principles include an examination of why evidence matters from a clinical, operational, and financial perspective. Value analysis professionals develop in-depth knowledge of how to use a systematic, objective, evidence-based approach to guide the appropriate implementation of health technologies and to maximize cost-effectiveness in their institution. Participants will also gain hands-on experience with health technology assessment methodology and financial calculator tools that are used to evaluate the clinical and financial impacts of a technology.

Participants will:

  • Understand the role of evidence in a robust value analysis program
  • Be able to apply the principles of evidence appraisal and financial impact analysis
  • Champion the value of an Evidence-Based Value Analysis (EBVA) process to their institution

Who Should Attend: Clinicians, managers, and staff members who have a stake in the impact of technology acquisition decisions on facilities, resources, and patient care through their participation in the Value Analysis Committee should attend this workshop. These include registered nurses, pharmacists, clinical department managers, and individuals involved in infection control, materials management, purchasing, finance, or facilities management.
