There are many factors contributing to the healthcare storm. Explaining why the United States health industry is in crisis, Dr. Hayes says, “We fail to adhere… to what the scientific evidence tells us what works and what doesn’t work in improving healthcare.”

On recommendations for Obama’s administration Dr. Hayes says a bill to fund comparative effectiveness research will be crucial to lowering the cost of healthcare.
