Shannon Brode, MPH

Scientific Director, Evidence Analysis

Shannon Brode co-leads a team of analysts charged with writing methodologically rigorous health technology assessments on new and emerging health technologies, devices, and procedures. She oversees and reviews the scientific and methodological rigor of the Hayes Health Technology Assessments and Annual Reviews. 

Ms. Brode brings 10 years of experience in healthcare including scientific writing and editing of health technology assessments; evidence evaluation, analysis, and synthesis; leadership and management of analyst teams; leading knowledge transfer efforts; and managing clinical research. 

Prior to joining Hayes, Ms. Brode worked for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) through the Research Triangle Institute-University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Evidence-Based Practice Center.

Ms. Brode earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Northern Arizona University and obtained her MPH with a focus on creating and evaluating a training tool for internal medicine residents of West Virginia University’s School of Medicine. The training module that she created and evaluated was used in the Internal Medicine curriculum to educate students on screening techniques for intimate partner violence. Ms. Brode also earned a certificate in Women’s Health during her tenure at West Virginia University.
