Glucocorticoids are adrenocortical steroids that modify the body’s immune responses to diverse stimuli. Dexamethasone is indicated for treatment of allergic states, dermatologic diseases, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal diseases, hematologic disorders, neoplastic diseases, ophthalmic diseases, renal diseases, respiratory diseases, and rheumatic disorders.
