Stellarex is a low-dose paclitaxel-coated balloon angioplasty catheter. It consists of an over-the-wire dual lumen catheter with a distally mounted semicompliant inflatable balloon and a tapered tip. The balloon is coated with a proprietary coating containing paclitaxel; the paclitaxel coating covers the working length of the balloon body. Stellarex delivers 2 μg/mm2 of paclitaxel while limiting drug loss during transit and facilitating efficient drug delivery.
